Hana and Alice

Synopsis

Hana (Anne Suzuki) and Alice (Yu Aoi) are childhood friends.

Alice is unrestrained and free-spirited.

Hana is always picking up the pieces as a result of it.

But there are good things that Alice brings too, like Hanaâs first ever crush.

Following her sudden proclamation of Îlove at first sightâ, Alice decides to follow her Îloveâ, a high school student, dragging the reluctant Hana along with her. It is then that Alice recommends Hana to consider the boyâs friend, Miyamoto (Tomohiro Kaku), as a possible boyfriend. Although not interested at first, Hana soon finds herself falling for him.

Time passes and it is now April, the season of the cherry-blossoms. Hana and Alice are now both students at Tezuka High. Having joined the schoolâs Comic Storytellerâs Club in hopes to get closer to Miyamoto who still doesnât even know her name, Hana secretly waits for the opportunity to arrive ö until one day, it does, but in a rather unexpected fashion. Out of desperation, Hana tells him a lie which ends up bringing the two closer.

However, this being Hanaâs romance, nothings goes smoothly. When she tells another lie in order to protect the first one, she gets her best friend Alice involved. But unfortunately for Hana, the lie prompts Miyamoto to fall for Alice instead of her, complicating things further...

Stuck between love and friendship, Hana and Aliceâs relationship begin to change subtly as the two slowly find themselves growing up.

Through its breathtaking visuals, hana & alice captures a period in life experienced by everyone. It is a gentle coming-of-age story of two delicate and sensitive souls.
