Essadaporn
Pholdee (Chai)

Jesadaporn
Pholdee plays Chai, the only straight member of the Satree Lex volleyball
team. Of the six lead characters, Mr Jesadaporn, who shot to fame
with his portrayal of the reckless Daeng Bireley in 2499, was the
only actor with any real film experience. But celluloid familiarity
didn't help much. He needed to practice playing vollyball.
"My role was that of an average, ordinary guy so I didn't have to
go out of my way to retrain myself. However, I did have to practise
volleyball!" said Mr Jesadaporn, who represents an open-minded straight
guy who likes volleyball.
"Satree Lex stands apart from other contemporary Thai films. A comedy
film about sports and gay guys is quite an unusual mix. Although
almost all the lead characters are gay, the film does not glorify
them. It simply shows different sides of gay people which some of
us have not seen before," said Mr Jesadaporn about the Satree Lex.
He
is not concerned about whether the film will be a box office success.
What he cares more about is the audience reaction. "I would like
to see people laughing at our gags," he said.
