ABOUT THE CAST

Anne Hathaway (Claire)

Anne Hathaway (Claire) most recently starred in the critically acclaimed The Devil Wears Prada, opposite Meryl Streep, and as Jane Austen in the U.K. film Becoming Jane, opposite Maggie Smith and James McAvoy.  Hathaway is currently in production on the action-comedy Get Smart, alongside Steve Carell of Little Miss Sunshine fame.

Hathaway also starred in Ang Lee’s drama Brokeback Mountain opposite Jake Gyllenhaal, Heath Ledger, and Michelle Williams.  The film received an outstanding seven Golden Globe and eight Academy Award® nominations, and was awarded the Golden Lion at the 2005 Venice Film Festival.  Brokeback’s cast received the nomination for Best Ensemble Cast at the 2005 ifp/Gotham Awards and the 2006 SAG Nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.

Hathaway first caught the public’s imagination when she starred opposite Julie Andrews in The Princess Diaries, for which Hathaway received a 2002 Teen Choice Award nomination for Best Actress in a Comedy; she then reprised her role in The Princess Diaries 2: The Royal Engagement, directed by Garry Marshall.

Hathaway’s other credits include the highly successful animated feature Hoodwinked, with Glenn Close, Andy Dick, Anthony Anderson, and Jim Belushi; the independent drama Havoc, directed by Barbara Kopple; the title role in Miramax’s Ella Enchanted, based on Gail Carson Levine’s celebrated novel and directed by Tommy O’Haver; Nicholas Nickleby, based on the novel by Charles Dickens and directed by Douglas McGrath; and the independent film The Other Side of Heaven, directed by Mitch Davis.

Patrick Wilson (Eric)

Patrick Wilson (Eric) recently starred in the critically acclaimed films Little Children, alongside Kate Winslet and Jennifer Connelly, and Running With Scissors, with Annette Bening, Gwyneth Paltrow, Joseph Fiennes, and co-produced by Brad Pitt.  Wilson will next be seen in Purple Violets, directed by Edward Burns and starring Debra Messing and Selma Blair, and has recently completed filming Evening with Meryl Streep, Glenn Close, Claire Danes, and Vanessa Redgrave.

Wilson starred in and received Golden Globe and Emmy nominations for his role in Angels in America, directed by Mike Nichols for HBO.  In this 2004 Golden Globe and Emmy recipient of Best Miniseries, based on Tony Kushner’s play, Patrick starred opposite Meryl Streep, Al Pacino, Mary Louis Parker and Emma Thompson.  Wilson’s other credits include the Sundance hit film Hard Candy, director Joel Schumacher’s The Phantom of the Opera, and The Alamo, opposite Dennis Quaid and Billy Bob Thorton, and directed by John Lee Hancock.

In addition to the big screen, Wilson recently re-visited his Broadway roots alongside Amanda Peet, Jill Clayburgh and Tony Roberts in the Broadway revival of Neil Simon’s 1963 classic romantic comedy, Barefoot in the Park,directed by Scott Elliot.

Wilson also starred in the Broadway musical revival of Rodgers and Hammerstein II’s Oklahoma!, for which he was nominated for a second consecutive Tony Award for best lead actor in a musical for his portrayal of Curly.  Previously, he was the lead role of Jerry Lukowski in the Broadway musical The Full Monty.  This role garnered Wilson rave reviews from critics and he received numerous accolades including a Tony nomination for Leading Actor in a Musical, Drama Desk Nomination, Drama League Award, and an Outer Critic’s Circle Nomination.

David Morse (Arkin)

David Morse (Arkin) made his motion picture debut in Richard Donner’s acclaimed drama Inside Moves and went on to star in two Sean Penn-directed dramas, The Indian Runner and The Crossing Guard.  Morse also starred in The Slaughter Rule, opposite Ryan Gosling; Hearts in Atlantis, with Anthony Hopkins and Hope Davis; Frank Darabont’s highly acclaimed prison drama The Green Mile; Lars Von Trier’s musical drama Dancer in the Dark; and Taylor Hackford’s thriller Proof of Life, starring Meg Ryan and Russell Crowe.

 Morse’s other feature film credits include 16 Blocks, Down in the Valley, Nearing Grace, The Dreamer, Crazy in Alabama, The Negotiator, The Rock, 12 Monkeys, The Good Son, and Personal Foul.  Morse can be seen in the recently released Disturbia, co-staring Shia LaBeouf and Carrie-Anne Moss, and in Hounddog, in competition at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival, with Dakota Fanning and Robin Wright Penn

In addition to film, Morse has numerous television credits including House, St. Elsewhere, and Hack, and the telefilms Diary of a City Priest, Murder Live, Prototype, and Stephen King’s The Langoliers.  Morse has also starred on the stage including Paula Vogel’s Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, How I Learned to Drive, for which Morse won the Drama League Award, the Lucille Lortel Award, the Drama Desk Award and the Obie Award.

Probably best known for his Emmy Award-winning work on Homicide: Life on the Street, Andre Braugher (Perry) recently won an Emmy for his work on FX’s Thief, which also garnered him a Golden Globe nomination, and will next appear in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.  Braugher’s other recent feature film credits include Poseidon, Duets, A Better Way to Die, Frequency, All the Rage, Thick as Thieves, and City of Angels.

Best known for her Oscar®-winning supporting roles in Woody Allen’s Hannah and Her Sisters and Bullets Over Broadway, Dianne Wiest (Toni) also gave noteworthy performances in Allen’s Radio Days, September, and The Purple Rose of Cairo; and she received an Academy Award® nomination for her performance in Ron Howard’s Parenthood.  Among Wiest’s extensive credits are such films as I’m Dancing As Fast As I Can, Footloose, The Lost Boys, Little Man Tate, Cops and Robbersons, The Birdcage, The Associate, Practical Magic, The Horse Whisperer, and I am Sam.

Clea DuVall (Shannon)

Clea DuVall (Shannon) was seen in the critically lauded film 21 Grams, directed by Alejandro Gonzalez Iñarrítu and co-starring Sean Penn, Benecio del Toro, and Naomi Watts.  DuVall also starred in James Mangold’s thriller Identity, opposite John Cusack and Ray Liotta.  Her other feature film credits include Girl, Interrupted, She’s All That, The Faculty, and Can’t Hardly Wait.  DuVall also starred in HBO’s critically acclaimed drama series Carnivàle.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR

Rodrigo Garcia

Director Rodrigo Garcia was born in Colombia and grew up in Mexico City.  He began as a director of photography with such films as Danzon, directed by Maria Novaro, Mi Vida Loca, for director Allison Anders, and Gia, directed by Michael Cristofer

Garcia went on to write and direct Things You Can Tell Just By Looking at Her, which won the Fondation Gan Award at Cannes 2000, Ten Tiny Love Stories, Fathers and Sons, and Nine Lives, winner at the 2005 Locarno Film Festival.

Rodrigo has also directed for the award-winning television series Six Feet Under and The Sopranos.  He directed the pilot episodes for the series Carnivàle, Six Degrees, and Big Love.  Garcia is currently in post-production for the HBO pilot In Treatment.
