Speed Angels

Tokyo Bay, Japan. Under the lights of a vibrant evening, two modified racing cars speed across the Rainbow Bridge. With sharply coloured bodies, glowing neon car lights and roaring engine sounds, the race is attracting the attention of spectators along its route. In the crowd, a handsome Chinese man is particularly focused on this street race.

Han Bing, the provocatively dressed female racer in the lead is freely navigating her car through the streets. Although she has superb techniques, her hands are mildly trembling from years of alcohol abuse, making her unable to have complete control over the steering wheel. She reaches for her bottle of booze and takes a big gulp, hoping it’ll stop the tremor. However, Sanoka, known as the “Queen of Drifting”, uses her flawless drifting technique at a turn and beautifully overtakes!

A year ago in Tokyo, Han Bing received a text message during her wedding dress fitting: “Your fiancé and a woman is in Room 303 of the Ginza Hotel.” Furious, Bing immediately drove to the Ginza Hotel with her sister, and was shocked to discover that her fiancé Asano was cheating on her with her teammate and best friend Yu Mei. Bing chased them out of the hotel and jumped into her car to catch up with Asano and Yu Mei, but unexpectedly her sister got into an accident and her legs were seriously injured. To treat her sister’s legs, Bing agrees to Gao Feng’s proposal to compete in the inaugural “Asia All Female Racing Competition” in hope to win the prize money of five million USD!

In Shanghai, a few taxicabs are parked on a busy road where Gao Fen leaves a bank with a bag of cash for Han Bing. As he approaches his car four men jumped out and robbed him, grabbed his car keys and fled in his car. Gao Fen, frantic and desperate, hops into Xiao Yi’s taxicab and orders her to give chase, offering her $3000 as reward. Xiao Yi immediately races off, and the taxi flies through the street, relentlessly chasing the racing car by the Huangpu River. As Gao Feng calls the police, he carefully observes Xiao Yi’s extremely accomplished racing technique and films her drive. Impressed by her talent, Gao Fen recruits Xiao Yi and trains her to be a car racer in his racing team, Speed Angels.

Despite becoming a race car driver, Xiao Yi cannot overcome her inability to handle pressure, unable to give her best performance when the stakes are high. Han Bing, meanwhile, is far from being in top form, and with the Sakura pulling off their scheme, the morale of Speed Angels has hit rock bottom.

Will Speed Angels win the Competition? Will Xiao Yi be able to overcome her fears? Can Han Bin raise the money to cure her sister? Will Yu Mei ultimately find happiness?
