Director Statement

Making CASSANDRA’S DREAM was a pleasurable experience for me. First, because I got a chance to work with three great male stars whose work I’ve hugely admired, but who I had never met before. Also because I found two young women who were completely new to me and proved to be extraordinary. It was my second film with Vilmos Zsigmond, the iconic cinematographer who makes every director look good, and my third consecutive film made in London, a city whose weather is not only perfect for the way I like to shoot movies but perfect for my temperament. I’ve always been just as interested in the tragic side of life as the comic and having said this I should say no more.
