A Man who was Superman

About the cast

The Man... who was Superman

Although people think he is insane and make fun of him, he believes he is Superman… only with his superpowers temporarily absent. Dressed in Hawaiian shirts and sporting a retro wavy hairstyle, the mysterious man believes helping people can change the future for the better. He punishes a flasher lurking around at an all girls’ high school, finds people’s lost dogs, and secretly turns off air-conditioners in public places to help save the earth from global warming.

“As soon as I read the script, I knew this would be the film of my lifetime!”

HWANG Jung-min
One of Choongmooro’s finest actors and a box office powerhouse, HWANG Jung-min returns as “Superman” in an out-of-this-world adventure. Wearing flower-patterned Hawaiian shirts and a throwback hair-do, he portrays his most loveable character yet as a man who claims he is Superman with his superpowers momentarily lost. It is always a delight to see Hwang’s transformations.

Producer SONG Soo-jung

The documentary show producer despises anything emotional and touching and doubts sympathy and compassion can help change the world for the better. A chain smoker with thinning hair on the job for three years, she uses a man claiming to be Superman to get good ratings. She is a success driven person who does not shrink away from fabricating coverage. However, as she follows Superman’s daily activities, she discovers a secret and realizes that changing the world starts with doing small things.

“Producer SONG is the most realistic character I’ve ever played! Acting has never been so hard and fun at the same time!”

JUN Ji-hyun
Popular actress JUN Ji-hyun returns in the ironic role of a television documentary producer who doubts sympathy and compassion can help change the world and is not afraid to fudge the facts for the sake of the show’s ratings. For this film, JUN cut off her trademark long, straight hair opting for loose curls with roughly pinned up bangs, and transforms herself into a realistic, modern character: a plain smoker with a foul mouth.
