Time To Leave

Synopsis

After Swimming Pool, selected in competition for the Palme d'Or in 2003, François Ozon returns to the Cannes Festival with Time to Leave , presented in the “Un Certain Regard” section.

Time to Leave is the second work in a trilogy about death and mourning created by François Ozon. The first, Under the Sand, approached the question of how one can experience another person's death. In Time to Leave, the question is how to deal with the knowledge of one's own death.

Romain a successful fashion photographer learns he has only a few months to live. His initial reaction is not what one might expect. He decides to tell no one. The single exception he only confides with is his grandmother (interpreted by the fabulous Jeanne Moreau). They are not only very close, but he senses she is near enough to her own death to understand his feelings...
